Ms. Sara's Class - Edible Chocolate Playdoh

First the dry ingredients.

Now the really fun part....ELECTRIC mixer!!

He was so excited for his turn to stir the dry ingredients.....

...then not so much.  Ha, TOO CUTE.

team work

voila' !!!

Of course they want to make worms before they eat.

And this good buddy was the first to taste our creation.
he said "yuck, its sour"
But the ELECTRIC mixer was a blast!

Ms. Sara's Class - Rainbow Rice

Who knew that white rice, a little rubbing alcohol, and food coloring could make amazing colored rice.   These little guys had so much fun creating this mixture. We spent days digging, building, sometimes putting our feet in and then eventually we couldn't stop ourselves from throwing it all around the room. But the carpet sure looked pretty!

Pre K Sensational Summer!

We have had a very busy summer exploring our surroundings and having a blast!  I have really enjoyed getting to know each and every one of your children!  They are very enthusiastic, fun, creative, and always eager to try something new!  Here are some of the activities we have done so far....
The kids love showing off their writing skills!
They also love drawing creative pictures that can be drawn over and over on our fun chalkboards!!
We love discovering things in our environment.  We played "I Spy" looking for things to match the color on our paint chip samples....they found so many things and did a great job!

We love our "Blue Room" time where we get to have a lot of choices of interactive play and crafts!

They love experiments!  They were each given an item to hold with their eyes closed and guess what the object was they were holding by touch and description.  We then placed these items over their handprints.

We also experimented with baking soda and colored vinegar to see what reaction would occur...they especially loved this experiment!

Miss Natalie made everyone a cool spy laser course which was a lot of fun...but I think we may need to practice more before becoming real spies!!  :)

Cooking days are always a treat!  Here the kids are enjoying their apple smiles and cooking our rainbow cake...YUM!!
Thanks for a GREAT Summer!!

Pre-K Detective's Club

We have been working really hard in our classroom.  We love being detectives and solving mysteries!  We created our own "secret" alphabet and we like to practice writing our names with our new code. :) Of course we really like cooking on Fridays.  We've made Dirt and Worm Cups, cookies, rainbow cakes, and fruit pizza.  Cooking is a great way for us to practice our math skills too!

Every detective loves to do experiments.  We've been using colored water and watching how it travels through different objects.  We tested it on our paper towel slides.  We wanted to see if the water would travel through the towels.  We were excited to see how it worked!
Now we are testing the water with these flowers.  We will let you know if the flowers change colors too. :)

Every day we walk out to the pond because we found a super secret hidden nest.  (We are very good detectives!)  We go and check on the eggs every morning.  So far we have counted 17 eggs.  We have to be quiet when we are out there so that the ducks don't get scared.  We are waiting patiently for them to hatch!

Thank you for allowing me to spend time with your kids!  This has been an incredible summer and I appreciate your continued support!
